Another legend went on to glory this year, Adam Yauch. Adam was apart of the legendary hip hop group the Beastie Boys. They rocked the 80′s with their rock influenced hip hop tracks.
       Since Adam’s passing great things have come to surface. Squibb Park in Brooklyn Heights was chosen by its residence to be renamed after the legend. What an honor? Seeing that the park is being renovated into a skateboard park makes the possible name change so much more fitting. The Beastie Boys are seen to have been very influential in the early part of the skating and BMX community. So to try to make sure the name change would be possible a petition was started on Facebook.
       There is no word yet if the change will actually happen but the Brooklyn community is in full support. It would be awesome to have something so significant to a community named after one of hip hops legends, which by the way started in NY. Honestly, there is no doubt in my mind that new skate park will be named Adam Yauch. #R.I.P
