Music Review: The Wryters (@THEWRYTERS)

In my opinion RnB has been on a decline in the past few years. Everything is about sex. I understand sex sales but what happened to the raw emotion, the love, the passion? What happened to the clashing of harmonies and melodies? Well look no further because I think I have found the answer to my own question, The Wryters.
A sprinkle of RnB and a dash of Hip Hop make up the immaculate duo The Wryters. The duo consist of Dave “ Dave Criss” Chatman and Jason “Jayy Emaculant” Fairley, whom reside in the Bay Area of California, Richmond to be exact. The two met in 2003 while attending junior high school together. It seemed like the two had developed a very productive and creative chemistry, so they formed the group Cloud 9. In 2006, the talented duo released their debut mixtape “The Sky Is Falling”, then shortly after added a third edition Jack Tradez to the team and that’s when The Wryters were established.
A few years later Jack Tradez decided that being a group member wasn’t for him and broke off to pursue a solo career, thus putting the group on a brief hiatus. Dave and Jason kept the name The Wryters. As a duo once again, the two artist embarked on great success with each other. Their sophomore mixtape as a duo but debut mixtape as The Wryters, “The Strangers” was released in 2009. After seeing the great things they could do with each others help First Class 4Ever Ent was formed with former member Jack Tradez, as well as DJ Rebelion and producer Young Mills. Currently the guys are working on their second Wryters mixtape “The Strangers II”.
Even though the duo is just starting out they aren’t strangers to the music industry. So far they have collaborated with artist such as DJ Ave Mcree, Vince Price, Mike Dash E and Mr. Kee, amongst many others. To correlate with the name The Wryters, these young men are actually writers that have written for labels such as Slip N Slide Ent and Atlantic Records. Also in 2007-08 they wrote “I Get Stupid” that got major radio play in many states. Like so many that have a passion for writing, Dave and Jason are branching their talents out by writing screenplays and dabbing in video editing as well.
