So I’m at it again, another review. House of Aura, we’re connected, we’re across the US, so therefore we’re always bringing you something new. Twitter connects a lot of us and so that’s how this and so many other reviews and interviews will start. Anywho, I was hit up by @UtmostMHM about their artist @peezysl, and of course if it has to do with music, I’m all on it.Peezy has his first mixtape “Designer Trapping” dropping Fall of 2012 and just released a single from the mixtape “Saks Fifth”. I’m always up to listen to up and coming artist; see their potential and what it is they are trying to do. To my delight Peezy is from my hometown Houston, so I was excited to hear what he was talking about. In this review I will be commenting on the actual song and the video separately.
Okay so “Saks Fifth” is a song I can hear on the radio. Even though the lyrical content isn’t anything out of the ordinary, the word play is clever. The hook is catchy, which is important when wanting a song to become popular. The beat makes you move, like pop something lol. When I was reading Peezy’s email I was sent, in his description it said that “you can’t put him in a box”, well I would like to hear more of his music because “Saks Fifth” is what I would call trap music. Nothing is wrong with trap music because one of favorites Jeezy, that’s what category you would put him in but hip hop needs variety. The song itself sounds like a winner to me above all else.
Now as far as the video itself, I really, really liked it. It was very professional. Excellent filming! The song created a story. The scenes went with the song, so if the volume wasn’t on you could still tell what the song was about. I must say that at the beginning of the video it felt like the intro to a movie. Overall the video was clean. I was impressed, very much so.
In my opinion Peezy is on his way to stardom. Representing H town well! If you wanna see Peezy’s song “Saks Fifth”, login to Youtube and search “Peezy- Saks Fifth (official video) and judge for yourself. I liked the finish product…kudos. Be looking out for his debut mixtape “Designer Trappin” coming soon. Hopefully he’ll bless us again before the release date
