Up until this point everyone was expecting the highly anticipated G.O.O.D. Music compilation album “Cruel Summer” to be dropping August 7th but there has been a change of plans. Now it seems as if the album has been pushed back a month and will be officially released September 4th. Hmmmm, that date seems awfully familiar. Oh yes Beyoncé released her last solo album “4″ on the same exact day, seeing that is her birthday. Anywho, Def Jam released a press release to inform the fans and media of the changes.
“As “Mercy” – G.O.O.D. Music’s smash platinum single and lead track from the upcoming CRUEL SUMMER album – reigns at #1 at Urban radio for the fourth consecutive week, Kanye West’s collective drops its next banger: “New God Flow,” featuring Kanye and Pusha T, and produced by West.”New God Flow” is currently available at all digital music retailers and services, including kanyewest.com. CRUEL SUMMER is set for an September 4th release on G.O.O.D. Music / Def Jam Recordings.”
Alongside the album is its inspiration, the 7-screen cinematic experience, the short film “Cruel Summer”. The film debuted in Cannes during its film festival in May and it got great reviews with expressions like “groundbreaking,” “gorgeous,” “ambitious,” immersive,” and “unique” to describe the films evoked vision. Because the film got rave reviews the compilation is expected to get reviews similar and honestly I feel it will. Kanye doesn’t put out junk! In the next few weeks more info will be released regarding the anticipation of this highly spoken of compilation, so stay tuned.
