“Certified Kings Only!” (C.K.O.) consists of five versatile members adding a unique element to the group, making a lively combination. C.K.O. is the next dynamic rap group to be the new face of hip-hop. C.K.O. are a much-needed breath of fresh talent in an increasingly homogeneous genre. C.K.O. possesses a vibrant chemistry, a contagious aura and an infectious style. Youthful and energetic, C.K.O. is destined for legendary status.
In no specific order, the first member of C.K.O. is Ckurzoff Forteau (C.K.). Born in Trinidad, he initially moved to Brooklyn and later settled with his family in Harlem. His smooth style and raspy flow echoes old school greats like LL Cool J mixed with new school lyricists like Jay-Z. CK began rapping as early as the age of eight, recording songs on a mini tape recorder
The second member of the group is Kenneth Barry (K.O.). Born and raised in Harlem, he considered himself to be more of a poet than a rapper. Initially inspired by The Notorious B.I.G., he was later influenced by 50 Cent’s gangster rap. His wild comical style gives him a creative lyrical edge.
The third member of C.K.O. is Markell Jackson aka Kelz Money, also born in Harlem. He is inspired by Jay-Z and Beanie Sigel, but evokes the laid-back charisma of Mase in his prime. Kelz Money adamantly states, “I don’t want to be a role model but I do want to teach through experience.”
Fourth is Khalid Muhammad mostly known as Mooch Da Kid. Well known a s a ladies’ man in Harlem, Mooch was exposed to music through his musically gifted mother, who encouraged him to play the piano. In addition, his father used to run with a hip-hop crew that included Russell Simmons. Mooch is reminiscent of Nas, Fabolous, and Cassidy.
Lastly, but certainly not least, is the exuberant Derrick “Flii Weeze” Wiggins , the producer and dancer of CKO. Weeze’s beats are a jolt of raw energy that is sure to get you moving.
Lyrical, melodic and forceful, C.K.O is poised to revolutionize hip-hop. C.K.O emerged triumphantly through seven years of obstacles. They’ve gone the distance; now stay tuned for their crowning moment.
